I am Erica Naomi, educator, and proud salon owner. With a decade of experience as a licensed stylist and 15 years of mastering the art of hair, I stand by my passion for beauty. A proud graduate of Paul Mitchell, renowned for its excellence in cosmetology education, I have gained invaluable experience working in various chain salons, including Visible Changes and Smartstyles. However, I noticed a significant gap in services tailored to ebony clients.
As a Black woman who embraces and celebrates her natural hair, I felt compelled to bring about change in the industry.
Thus, I established my own commission-based salon, dedicated to empowering Black women like myself. More than just a salon, it serves as a nurturing space for newly graduated cosmetologists, providing them with opportunities for growth and further training.
Though my salon has been open for only two brief years, I am proud to have trained 16 talented women, all of whom are thriving in their careers.
To me, success is about uplifting others, providing them with the tools and opportunities to win and flourish-and that is precisely what I endeavor to do.
